Ride with PRIDE
In collaboration with Berrien County’s Regional Education Service Agency (RESA), TEC offers the Ride with Pride school program to their students with autism and emotional disability at the Lighthouse Education Center. The program supports the school’s positive behavior program PRIDE – Participation, Respect, Independence, Dependable, and Excellence. The program is a combination of in-school, equine-related learning and hands-on activities during sessions at the barn.
“The kids blossom here. It’s wonderful to see the kids open up, find their courage, and appear less self-conscious.” – TEC Volunteer, Jane I.
Ride with PRIDE is not limited to Berrien RESA or the Lighthouse Education Center. If you would like to learn how TEC can bring Ride with Pride to your school, contact Autumn Zick.
